Gun of the Day: Winchester-Schoyen M1885 Rifle

Great single-shot rifles, like our GOTD - a Winchester Model 1885 .32-40 enhanced by noted Denver gunsmith George Schoyen, are part of the collection on daily exhibition in Fairfax, VA. This falling-block also features a nice Winchester A5 telescopic sight, as well as a “tuning fork” front handrest. For accuracy, we’re betting the double-set triggers didn’t hurt either.

This John Browning design was originally offered from 1885 to 1913.
