NRA Launches Search For 2019 National Youth Shooting Sports Ambassadors Presented by Brownells

The National Rifle Association has launched the national search for the 2019 NRA National Youth Shooting Sports Ambassadors, and is now accepting applications from qualified candidates to represent NRA and partnering organizations throughout next year.

The program, presented by Brownells, identifies a select group of passionate young Americans to serve as Ambassadors for the shooting sports, supporters of the Second Amendment, and representatives for the NRA’s commitment to building the next generation of shooting athletes. Ambassadors provide perspective and serve as advisers on youth shooting sports topics. Not only does the program encourage the growth of the shooting sports, but also encourages increased industry support of youth shooting.

In previous years, the selection of Ambassadors was limited to a select group of partner organizations. Beginning this year, candidates from the general public will be considered for selection, and no membership or participation in partner organizations is required.

Qualified applicants will be between 15 and 19 years old, and must be active in a youth shooting sports program. The ideal candidate will be a successful public speaker, enjoy writing articles and making public appearances at industry and shooting sports events, and are able to attend events including the Great American Outdoor Show in February, NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits in May, and the NRA Carry Guard Expo in late summer.

Additionally, Ambassadors will volunteer at Friends of NRA events, provide updates about their promotional and volunteer work via conference calls, complete NRA training courses, organize NRA Youth Day events at local NRA Clubs and State Associations, and receive an NRA Life Membership and NRA Ambassador apparel.

“Our youth represent the future of competitive shooting, hunting, training and advocating for our Second Amendment rights, and we’re proud to highlight the extraordinary contributions of these young men and women in the shooting sports and beyond,” said Joseph DeBergalis, Deputy Executive Director of NRA General Operations. “Their enthusiasm and commitment to excellence in their programs and communities is a reflection of the ideals of the NRA, and we look forward to welcoming our next class of Ambassadors to promote our proud traditions.”

The NRA thanks Brownells for their continued support of the NRA National Youth Shooting Sports Ambassadors program, and their unwavering support of the NRA mission.

Candidates must submit their application by Oct. 1, 2018. Application packets must include completed application form, personal statement, school transcripts, and three (3) letters of recommendation from qualified sources.
