Nashville Welcomes YHEC Presented by NRA and Sportsmen's Alliance

Calling all youth hunters in Tennessee! The NRA's Youth Hunter Education Challenge (YHEC) is coming to Nashville this March!

The Nashville YHEC Presented by NRA and Sportsmen's Alliance is scheduled for March 17, 2018, at the Nashville Gun Club, located at 1100 County Hospital Road in Nashville. Registration is open from 7:30 to 9 a.m., and the events begin at 9:30 a.m. and run through 5 p.m., with a one-hour lunch break at noon -- lunch is provided. The event is capped at 100 registered participants, boys and girls, ages 18 year of age and younger. Best of all, the event is FREE to participants!

Youth hunters will participate in a variety of educational and engaging events, including shotgun shooting, archery, the hunter safety trail, a sporting dog demonstration, and a birds of prey demonstration. Onsite participants will receive a participation packet which includes an NRA YHEC hat and T-shirt, an NRA Hunters Guide, and additional related materials. No Hunter Education Certification is required to participate.

NRA's YHEC provides a fun environment for youth to improve their hunting, marksmanship, and safety skills. Through its simulated hunting situations, live fire exercises, and educational and responsibility events, YHEC helps build upon skills learned in basic hunter education courses and encourages safer lifelong hunting habits. Since its inception in 1985, more than 1.2 million youth hunters have participated in YHEC programs nationwide.

Ready to be part of the most comprehensive youth hunting program in the nation? To register, please contact Bob Davis by emailing [email protected]. Parent or guardian permission is required for participation. Over 18 years of age and still want to be part of the action? We are welcoming adult volunteers for the event, and ask those interested in volunteering to email [email protected]! Learn more about YHEC at yhec.nra.org.
