NRA Takes Over NASCAR

NRA Takes Over NASCAR

NRA and NASCAR. The two share some similarities. Many NRA members and NASCAR fans share the same values and appreciation for hunting, fishing and the outdoors lifestyle.

So it was only natural that the other weekend the NRA and race fans alike headed out to the Bristol Motor Speedway for the Bass Pro NRA Night Race.

Fans were able to spend time before the race learning about a few of NRA's safety and training programs, as well as NRA membership.

The NRA's Eddie Eagle Gunsafe® program was a huge hit! Eddie flew in to educate fans on his program but more importantly his message to children if they were to come across a firearm: STOP! Don’t touch. Run away. Tell a grown up.

The Eddie Eagle program staff distributed animated DVD’s, Wing Team tattoos, and other promo items to over 1,200 patrons. There was also a photo booth set up where over 250 race fans took pictures with the Eddie Eagle backdrop. The booth was so popular that even Cam & Co from NRA News stopped by!

But that’s not all NRA was up to over the weekend.

Race fans had the chance to get real firearms training with the NRA Mobile Tactical Range Experience. Over 5,600 patrons trained with real AR-15 rifles and Glock 17 pistols using Ultimate Training Munitions (UTM) simulation ammunition, under the supervision of certified NRA Instructors.

Vistors also took advantage of NRA Race Special memberships, scoring discounts on NRA memberships and receiving a free $25 Bass Pro Shops gift card with the purchase or renewal of an NRA membership.

It’s easy to see that it was a fun and successful weekend full of NRA training, safety, and of course, NASCAR.
