NRA Headquarters Range earns 2016 Best of Fairfax honors

The NRA Headquarters Range continues to add to its list of accolades, earning the 2016 Best of Fairfax Award in the shooting range category, as presented by the Fairfax Award Program.

The program recognizes companies annually that “achieve exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category,” who bolster the image of small, customer-focused businesses in the Fairfax area and positively contribute to the community.

Michael Johns, General Manager of the NRA Range, said he and his staff take great pride in earning the award, as well as feedback from their customers.

“It’s an important recognition of the efforts by NRA and the NRA Range to provide world-class services and facilities to our local patrons, visitors and neighbors,” Johns said. “The NRA Range staff is a highly eclectic group of persons sharing a common interest in the shooting sports and our Second Amendment rights.”

The NRA Range is one of the nation’s premier family-friendly indoor shooting facilities in the country, boasting 15 shooting booths on a 50-yard, wheelchair-accessible range. Shooters can fire rifle calibers up to .460 Weatherby Magnum and pistol calibers up to .500 Smith & Wesson.

In addition to its revolutionary backstop system and automatic target retrieval system, the NRA Range hosts NRA Firearm Training courses, junior shooting programs, NRA Certified Instructor courses, clinics, special events and more, even offering private group rentals. The range features a pro shop offering ammunition and more, and the facility is conveniently located at NRA’s headquarters complex just off Interstate 66 in Fairfax.

Johns said the future is even brighter for the NRA Range, as customers can look forward to numerous major upgrades in 2016. In the meantime, check out these five things you may not know about the NRA Range.
