Volunteer of the Week: Chad Ray

Volunteer of the Week: Chad Ray

Our Volunteer of the Week is Chairman Chad Ray, volunteer of 11 years of the Blue Mountain, Oregon Friends of NRA

During his service, Chad has sold 252 banquet tickets bringing in $10,800, sold 16 individual and 11 business sponsorships equaling $15,350, arranged underwriting for 20 items totaling $4,200, and acquired 102 donations valued over $17,000.

When asked about Chad, NRA Field Representative Mike Carey told us: “Chad is the perfect volunteer. His phone is always open to other committee’s members for advice on how to advance their fundraising activities. I have gone with Chad on occasions when he has visited local businesses and high end donors in his community and the interaction between them is unbelievable. Chad’s personality makes folks want to work with him and our organization. At the state workshop Chad always has a role as a presenter year after year; he has been instrumental in encouraging and teaching other committee chairs in the “How To” of putting on events.
“Chad is the perfect volunteer. He is always around to give advice and help other members of this committee."
Chad was influential in helping other committees learn how to set up their own committee Facebook page, and taught them how to run Facebook raffles in Oregon. He is also on the State Fund Committee’s scholarship committee, judging applicants for scholarships, and helps review and judge our Youth Education Summit applicants. Besides the hours spent on his event (a year round endeavor} he is constantly talking to friends, acquaintances and other folks about the program and its benefits. He does all of this for us even though he travels the state with his family for his two high school kids sports programs."
