NRA Training in Puerto Rico

While Puerto Rico is only a commonwealth of the United States, its citizens enjoy the right to bear arms just like the rest of the 50 states. CODEPOLA is the only organization in Puerto Rico that assists people with obtaining firearm licenses and hosts training courses on safe firearm use. And its staff are all NRA Instructors.

At SHOT Show, we had the opportunity to meet with CODEPOLA President Ariel Torres. He is an avid firearms enthusiast and has made a personal commitment to continue providing NRA training courses in Puerto Rico.

Mr. Torres shared with us the continued growing interest of firearms, the shooting sports and self-defense in Puerto Rico.

Most recently an NRA Basic Pistol course the organization held last year was attended by a record-setting 390 people! This full day course started at 7:00am and included breakfast and lunch. It was the 2nd seminar hosted by CODEPOLA.

But it doesn't stop with just learning how to shoot. Many people are interested in becoming NRA Instructors themselves to help others safely exercise their rights. This past month, a CODEPOLA instructor course hosted 30 students who are all now newly-inducted NRA Instructors.

Congratulations to all the newly certified in NRA Basic Pistol and NRA Instructors!
