We Want You For Y.E.S. 2020

The NRA Foundation is looking for the brightest student leaders to come to Washington, D.C., and represent their state at the 2020 NRA Youth Education Summit (Y.E.S.).

The NRA Youth Education Summit develops our next generation of leaders by encouraging them to become active citizens and in their local communities and beyond. Students learn about the Constitution and Bill of Rights, the federal government and the importance of engaging in civic affairs. Competitive team debates and casual current events discussions highlight the diverse backgrounds and beliefs of participants while fostering fellowship and respect. The program’s nonstop agenda also includes exciting activities and opportunities from visiting NRA Headquarters to touring historic sites and monuments in the D.C. area and reflecting on the dedicated service of the nation’s military.
“During my Y.E.S. experience, I enjoyed visiting the numerous veteran memorials and monuments throughout Washington, D.C. Our freedoms are hard-won, and gaining this understanding through Y.E.S. has made me all the more motivated to protect and preserve these freedoms for ours and future generations,” said Brayden Teague, 2019 participant from North Carolina and scholarship winner.

Apply now to join us for Y.E.S. July 13-19, 2020! Attendees will compete for up to $50,000 in college scholarships to be awarded at the end of the session. Students are judged on speeches and debates held during the summit, and their overall participation throughout the week.
“Y.E.S. was an incredible experience for me, where I was able to learn about our nation’s government, debating, and much more. The atmosphere is unlike any other and allows you to make new friends. The experience truly changed my life for the better,” stated 2019 attendee from Pennsylvania, Lacey Swab.

We want you to Lead the Legacy with us while you, Lead Today, Transform Tomorrow, and Inspire Chance.

Entry into the program requires submission of a completed application form, a high school transcript, a three-page essay on the Second Amendment, a personal statement, and three letters of recommendation. Those interested must have their application postmarked no later than January 24, 2020.
