NRA Field Staff Receives Fundraising Ammo From Daniel Defense

Marty and Cindy Daniel, the couple who founded tactical rifle manufacturer Daniel Defense, have been ardent supporters of the NRA for years and continue to help the nation’s oldest civil rights group keep fighting for American gun owners and building a brighter future for the shooting sports.

The pair recently spent time with the NRA’s committed corps of field representatives to share valuable leadership lessons and keys to success at the annual NRA Field Operations summer meeting in Ohio, hoping to further invigorate what has been an excellent 25th anniversary year for Friends of NRA.

Marty Daniel, who built the company from a pile of spare parts into one of the world’s leading rifle makers, discussed best practices to help boost quality, productivity and accountability, all areas he’s experienced success in his own company.

Daniel introduced four key principles cited in the national bestseller “The 4 Disciplines of Execution” by Chris McChesney, Sean Covey and Jim Huling. He described how he took those four basic principles—Focus on the Wildly Important, Act on Lead Measures, Keep a Compelling Scoreboard and Create a Cadence of Accountability—and applied them to Daniel Defense. Daniel then took those four disciplines of execution and outlined on a white board a plan for applying them to Friends of NRA fundraising.

“This was one of the best donations that the Friends of NRA program has ever received,” noted Western Regional Director Brad Kruger. “Marty Daniel gave us invaluable leadership tools easily adaptable for our Friends of NRA committees. I have no doubt we will see a boost in net dollars raised for the shooting sports.”

"Cindy and I had a great time interacting with the Friends of NRA reps,” said Marty Daniel. “What an amazing group of folks. Every time I meet with them I’m even more impressed with the quality of the organization… when these things are implemented in the Friends of NRA committees, it will produce results.”

The Daniels plan to meet more NRA field representatives and volunteers when they serve as the chairs of the sold-out Savannah Friends of NRA banquet in Georgia on Sept. 14. To learn more about Friends of NRA and to find an event in your area, click here!
