This week we recognize Chairman Sean Ford, volunteer of three years with the Clovis, Middle California Friends of NRA.
Sean is on the Central CA State Event Committee and on the North Clovis Friends of NRA event committee as the co-chairman. Starting in 2014, he took over the Clovis committee which had been struggling since 2012 according to NRA Field Representative Bob Anderson.
In 2016 he started refreshing and growing his committee. It wasn't until they decided to concentrate on package buyer sales, donations and pre-event raffles when they had the positive results they were striving for: a large net increase. “Sean is responsible for turning this event around and I fully expect it to grow in the coming years,” Bob emphasized.
Being the grant delegate for the State Grant Committee for several years, Sean distinguishes himself as being thoroughly prepared and focused on awarding grants to organizations and programs that best represent the core values of the Friends of NRA program.
According to Bob, Sean attends various Friends of NRA events each year, not only as a paid attendee, but always looking for ways to help the committee throughout all events.
Sean recognizes that without Friends of NRA and the grants that they provide, there is no other viable way to help provide firearms friendly education in schools, and community programs. This recognition is a leading factor in his outward dedication to the betterment of his committee.
“Sean Ford is a rare bird. He has a PhD in forensic anthropology, and has spent many years working for the efforts of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation,” Bob said. “Those efforts are now devoted to the Friends of NRA program. He is a leader and he has a heart as big as the sky.”
