Volunteer of the Week: Kenny Riedlinger

Volunteer of the Week: Kenny Riedlinger

This week we recognize Treasurer Kenny Riedlinger, volunteer of 19 years with the Mini Cassia, Idaho Friends of NRA.

For nearly two decades, Kenny has immersed himself in Friends and its mission. Just last year, he sold 250 banquet tickets, acquired more than $41,000 in ticket, sponsorships and couples packages, and raised over $8,500 in pre and post-event raffles.

“Kenny is the NRA in his area,” said NRA Field Representative Steve Vreeland. “He visits all of the local clubs, assists with NRA Foundation Grant applications, and is successful in getting his community involved with Friends of NRA activities.”

Kenny couldn’t operate a successful committee without the dedicated volunteers who help make up the group. Together they work for the cause, support one another, and strive to host a successful event. That’s what motivates him to do what he does.

“He’s the foundation of this committee,” said Vreeland. “He’s really great at keeping the committee members and supporters involved year after year.”

Kenny also facilitates a “College vs College” shoot between Idaho State University and Boise State University at his local ranges – nearly 80 miles away. “If there’s a local club, range, youth group, or government agency looking for help from NRA, he's the first anyone calls and he’s more than happy to lend a helping hand,” shared Vreeland.

When he isn’t dedicating his time to Friends through his committee, banquets, and Grant Fund Meetings, Kenny is an active member in his community. He manages his time between maintaining the local cemetery, the local ambulance team, and volunteering as a firefighter.

All in all, it’s safe to say Kenny is heavily relied upon in his community in more ways than one. If you need a helping hand, he isn’t too far away.
