Volunteer of the Week: Veron Auld

Volunteer of the Week: Veron Auld

This week we recognize Chairman Veron Auld, volunteer of ten years with the Perry Randolf, Illinois Friends of NRA.

Most recently, Veron has sold multiple banquet tickets and tables bringing in over $3,200, has raised more than $14,000 in pre and post-event raffles, and has acquired 32 donations valued over $2,500.

“Veron has a unique ability to keep everyone on the right path."“Veron has a unique ability to keep everyone on the right path and explain situations for all to understand,” said Illinois Field Representative Don Higgs. “When placed in challenging situations he always makes the right decisions for the overall good of the program.”

Due to his strong leadership and vision for his committee, Veron has helped maintain its High Caliber Club status for the past four consecutive years.

To achieve this, he's put in the time to aggressively solicit for underwriting and merchandise donations for his banquets, has attended eight gun shows, and coordinated several other events for his volunteers to work at. He's also a committee member for the calendar project where he’s responsible for selling nearly 1/8th of the 1,000 calendars raffle.

Veron’s dedication to the program excels beyond his duties as Chairman for his own committee. He’s been instrumental in assisting five other Friends of NRA committees at their banquets with games and set-up.
“His fundraising efforts in the past, today, and in the future will continue to make a difference in the shooting sports."

Veron’s understanding of the mission Friends has is what keeps him driven to do his best for the overall good of The NRA Foundation. “His strong devotion to the shooting sports is a leading professional quality others listen to, understand, and follow,” said Higgs. “His fundraising efforts in the past, today, and in the future will continue to make a difference in the shooting sports. I’m thankful for his loyal dedication and support.”
