Volunteer of the Week: Chris Lyons

This week we recognize Chairman Chris Lyons, volunteer of two years with the Southeast Texas, Texas Friends of NRA.

During his service, Chris has sold multiple banquet tickets and tables bringing in nearly $7,000, has raised $8,000 in pre and post-event raffles and acquired 20 donations valued over $1,500.

With only two years under his belt, Chris has achieved significant success in South Texas. “His enthusiasm, energy, integrity and commitment to the program continues to take us to the next level,” shared NRA Field Representative Liz Foley. “He is well respected by his attendees, donors and sponsors and is an excellent ambassador for Friends of NRA in the community.”

“His enthusiasm, energy, integrity and commitment to the program continues to take us to the next level.”Under Chris’ leadership, Southeast Texas has achieved High Caliber Club status for two consecutive years raising $39,000 and $43,000 respectively.

He also serves as the delegate for the State Fund Committee and has assisted with two regional raffles. Chris has also personally benefitted from the program as a grant recipient where he was able to hold a shoot to raise more funds for his organization.

Continually looking for ways to improve and grow his event, there are no limits to where Chris will be able to take the Southeast Texas event. His positive attitude and dedication to raising funds for the future of the shooting sports is what Friends is all about.
