Volunteer of the Week: Keith Compton

This week we recognize Chairman Keith Compton, volunteer of 18 years with the McCurtain County, Oklahoma Friends of NRA.

During his service, Keith sold 70 banquet tickets bringing in $1,400 and sold 52 sponsorships equaling $44,100. He also raised $6,000 in pre and post-event raffles and acquired donations valued over $2,000!

NRA Oklahoma Field Representative Darren DeLong has worked alongside Keith for many years and shared, “his [Keith] passion for Friends of NRA has never wavered. His enthusiasm, commitment, and passion for this event is incredible.” Delong continued to emphasize Keith’s dedication to the program estimating he spent over 200 hours throughout the year promoting Friends to the community.

"His enthusiasm, commitment, and passion for this event is incredible.”
Keith owns a local wildlife taxidermy business and volunteers for several community programs. As a well-respected business owner, he brings a lot of integrity to the local event. As his way to ensure the love and respect for the shooting sports continues to be handed down to the next generation, Keith also volunteers his time with several youth organizations.

With nearly two decades of service, leadership, and productivity, Keith is the kind of dedicated leader and volunteer that Friends of NRA desires to connect with all across the country.
