Our Volunteers of the Week are Chairman & Treasurer Ron and Patty Howser, volunteers of 8 and 5 years respectively of the Jefferson Valley, Montana Friends of NRA!
During their service, Ron and Patty sold 130 banquet tickets raising $6,500, sold 20 sponsorships totaling $9,250, raised $1,500 in pre and post-event raffles, and acquired 10 donations valued over $1,500.
When asked about Ron and Patty, NRA Field Representative Joe Crismore told us: “Ron and Patty have spent around 500 hours on their event to improve it, and to build the Friends of NRA name around their area. These two have worked 3 gun shows this year in their small area in order to promote their event. They have been looking for help to start an event in a town about 30 miles away, so that the Friends can continue to grow in Montana. They both attend the Friends of NRA Workshop and the Montana State Fund Committee meetings, and implemented ideas learned there at their event.
"Ron and Patty have spent around 500 hours on their event to improve it, and to build the Friends of NRA name around their area." Ron and Patty are the main contact for a mining company that is thinking about starting a range on some mine property, and are thinking about the grant process. They have also been the main contact with the local sportsmen’s group. Ron and Patty have an excellent relationship with the nearest gun store, which helps to support the event. Ron and Patty keep a positive image of Friends of NRA around the community and are great volunteers to work with.”
