Things You Can Do In The Great Outdoors

Summer is here! Summer is here! There are more than 12 hours of sunlight a day meaning you now have more time to adventure outside and stretch those limbs! But what to do this summer? If you are stumped, check out our list of top five great things to do this summer. And enter to win an exclusive NRA prize pack that includes some great NRA gear and a Sportsman’s Box! You don’t want to be “that guy” that just sat around all summer and did nothing… do you?

Go Hiking

Take a friend, take your dog, take your family or just opt to go solo… Hikes are a great way to reconnect with nature, mediate and if nothing else, a way to spend time with the people you love in the great outdoors. Really it’s better than going to the gym for the day – get your sweat on outside, absorb the fresh air and feel instantly better!

Go Fishing
There is something about the ocean and lakes that can calm the soul. Maybe it’s the serene waves underneath the glistening sun – or just the idea that you can relax, while still working on catching dinner…perhaps it’s just the thrill and challenge of catching anything at all…there are all types of fishing activities that you can partake in, whether it’s solo or with the whole family!

Go Camping
Don’t know what to do with that weekend in July that isn’t booked for a wedding, cookout or the beach? Find a campsite close by and spend the weekend roughing it in the woods. Take the family or go with your friends – there is definitely a lot to teach, and learn, when it comes to surviving the great outdoors.

Take up Archery

Looking for a new challenge? Try archery! Archery is a fun sport that tests both your physical and mental skills. Its rich history dates back to the Paleolithic or early Mesolithic periods, and continues to evolve through modern day for the hunter and sportsman.

Go Shooting at an Outdoor Range
Want to keep up with your marksmanship training but don’t want to miss out on the beautiful sunshine and warm weather? Outdoor shooting ranges, there are plenty! Outdoor ranges often offer long distances, which can help test and improve your accuracy skills.
