Harrisburg, Pennsylvania - Men, women, and children of all ages lined up early this morning for the grand opening of NRA's 2015 Great American Outdoor Show. Presented by the Outdoor Channel, Great American is the largest consumer outdoor show in the world.
“We were humbled by the support attendees showed last year and have worked hard to make this winter’s show an even better experience,” said Kyle Weaver, executive director of NRA General Operations. "Between the miles of aisles in our exhibit hall and all the great evening entertainment we’ve planned, the 2015 Great American Outdoor Show will be one to remember.”
In existence for more than 60 years, the Harrisburg Outdoor Show (as it's known by a collection of locals) has become a Mecca for those in search of outdoor gear. If you're searching for something to add to your hunting, archery, camping, boating, fishing, or hiking arsenal, then this is the place to be.
"My parents brought me here for a bow," said 12 year-old Tommy from Lancaster, Pennsylvania outside the Maclay Street entrance. "That's where we're headed first."
For Tommy, and those like him, there is more selection in the Archery Hall than ever. Same can be said for the Fishing Hall. And that's just the beginning.
Open today from 9:00am to 7:00pm, Great American is open to the pubic through February 15th.
So if you're in need of a new pair of waders, ATVs, or a bow like Tommy, head on down the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex for a look around. There's a little bit of something for everyone.
