Jim Supica, 62, is director of the NRA Museums, the biggest of which is the National Firearms Museum in Fairfax, Va., which houses 3,000 guns and traces their role in U.S. history. Supica spent 20 years running a family business dealing in antique firearms and is co-host of “NRA Gun Gurus,” a kind of “Antiques Roadshow” for firearms.

Raton, New Mexico - Last night’s Curator’s Corner featured two incredible examples of early European craftsmanship; the wheellock and Miquelet rifles.

“These type of guns, this era of guns, are actually very hard to acquire,” said NRA Museums Director Jim Supica.

Joined by Whittington Center Executive Director Wayne Armacost inside the Frank Brownell Museum of the Southwest, Supica anxiously sat by as Armacost broke down the older model of the two; an Italian wheellock.
