Just because NRA's 2012 National Rifle & Pistol Championships in Camp Perry, Ohio, have come to close, doesn't mean that we're done with the stories ... there's much more to come.

Stories about competitors, about teams, about those who traveled half way around the globe to take part in the World Series of Shooting sports. Some not as successful as others and some who are still riding high.

Along with the tales are hundreds of pictures and even a little video. We'll be sharing it all ... it's just going to take a little time.

Australia Rifle team to take on Canadian Rifle Championships

Ron Whalen, Captain of the Australian Rifle Team Port Clinton, Ohio - Yesterday marked the end of NRA's National Rifle & Pistol Championships in Camp Perry. Those still stirring round the base included staff, volunteers and much to my surprise — the Australian Rifle Team.

A surprise because it was only that morning I discovered a portion of the team was bunking a few doors down from me. Exchanging pleasantries while they packed the team rental van, I then discovered yet another surprising fact. They were not headed to the airport for the long flight home. No, instead, Captain Ron (pictured above) Aubrey and the rest of the team were about to embark for Ottawa.

U.S. Rifle team wins the 2012 America Match to close out the NRA Championships in Camp Perry, Ohio

Port Clinton, Ohio - Separated by a single X (bullseye) at the halfway point, The United States Rifle Team completed their mission to beat the Great Britain Rifle team by a final score of 4,784-308x to 4,781-305x.

"Both sides fired four hundred and eighty bullets each," said Emil Praslick. "And it came down to three points on a ten point target. Unbelievable."

Rifle teams from across the globe compete in America Match at NRA Championships

Team flags from Great Britain, America, Japan and Australia fly during the America Match at NRA Championships

Port Clinton, Ohio - Scores from the first two round of today's America Match at the NRA Long Range Rifle Championships finds the Great Britain Rifle Team in the lead by two points.

Starting with targets at 300 yards, eight-man teams from the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, Canada and Australia fire 120 shots per round before moving to the next distance. Once the day is done, teams will have shot from distances of 300, 800, 900 and 1,000 yards. The 300, according to some, just might be the most difficult.

Army team wins Herrick Trophy Team Match with record scores

USAMU Praslick sets new National Championship team records in Herrick Trophy Match

Port Clinton, Ohio- The United States Army Marksmanship Unit is now two-for-two in Long Range Rifle Championship team matches. On Sunday, USAMU Praslick won the Roumanian Trophy Team Match and Monday afternoon the team shot their way to the top after an incredible Herrick Trophy Team Match finish. USAMU Praslick shot an amazing National record-setting score of 799-56x, surpassing the old Herrick Trophy Team national record of 799-51x by five X's.

Great Britain Rifleman takes top NRA Long Range rifle prize

John Whidden, David Luckman and John Friguglietti finish second, first and third at NRA's Long Range High Power Rifle Championships

Port Clinton, Ohio - Last night was the Awards Ceremony for NRA's 2012 Long Range High Power Rifle Championships. Headlining the night was David Luckman. A member of the Great Britain Rifle Team, Luckman's participation in this year's tournament was initially intended as a warm up for today's America Match. But he didn't exactly use the past few days for practice.

Great Britain's David Luckman wins NRA's National Long Range Rifle Championship

Port Clinton, Ohio - After a practically perfect performance in today's Palma Individual Trophy Match (449-31x), it appears that David Luckman of the Great Britain Rifle Team will be crowned tonight as NRA's 2012 Long Range High Power Rifle Champion. A veteran of the International Long Range Rifle world, Luckman's list of accolades includes the 2010 World Individual Long Range Rifle title as well as seventeen consecutive UK Grand Aggregate crosses.

With a winning total of 1246-74x, we give you this year's Champion, David Luckman.

Rifle team from Australia makes mark on NRA Championships

David Waters of Australian Rifle Team prepares to shoot at Camp Perry during 2012 NRA Chmapionships Port Clinton, Ohio - The excitement surrounding this year's NRA Long Range Rifle Championships isn't just about the individual title, there's also the America Match to consider. Teams from across the globe have traveled here to Camp Perry for that very match … including a team from Australia.

"Right now we're in a team building process," said Australian Palma Rifle Team member David 'The Wagon' Waters. "Cycle shooters through, step outside the square, push the boundaries and see what we can come up with as a team."

Their ability to work as a team has been put to the test so far. In matches such as the Roumanian Trophy Team and Herrick Trophy Team, they're best overall finish is 5th … behind teams from America, Great Britain and Canada.
