Fairfax, Virginia - Now that it's May and much of the country is enjoying warm(ish) weather, why not get outside and enjoy some shooting sports?

One great weekend activity is taking part in an Brownells/NRA Day. Put together by people in your community, NRA Days are family-oriented events for Second Amendment supporters of all ages to have some safe outdoor fun.

NRA Days all have the same goal of shooting sports fun, but not each one is the same. They're based on themes that dictates what activities are held and the firearms present. A NRA Day one weekend could be completely different from one a week later in the same state. But you'll still have a fun time and meet great people. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a first-timer, you're guaranteed to enjoy the experience.

Introduce, reacquaint or familiarize yourself with the shooting sports this spring with the NRA

Fairfax, Virginia - Spring has sprung. People all across the country are emerging from their homes to enjoy the fun and warmth of the great outdoors.

One sure way to enjoy the great outdoors (if we don't say so ourselves) is to take part in an Brownells/NRA Day. Put on by members of your community, NRA Days welcomes anybody of any age to revel in some outdoor fun and the shooting sports.

Not every NRA Day is the same. Each one is based on a theme that dictates what activities are held and the firearms present. A NRA Day one weekend could be completely different from one a week later in the same state. Regardless of the theme, though, you'll definitely have a great time getting some hands-on opportunities with firearms and meeting other shooting sports enthusiasts. Seasoned pros, newbies, it doesn't matter. Everyone has fun in the safe, controlled, beautiful environment.

13,138 attendees enjoyed a Brownells/NRA Day event with something for everyone in 2012

Fairfax, Virginia - The Brownells/NRA Day program had a pretty good year in 2012. The event for adults, youth, families, hunters, sportsmen, competitors - literally everyone - to come together and learn about, experience, and share their appreciation of the shooting sports saw attendance grow by 11%. From the nearly 130 events held, 13,138 participants had a weekend they won't soon forget.

Held in throughout the United States, NRA Day is program about discovery. Events are set up around themes that provide exposure to the different activities available in shooting sports (e.g. pistol, muzzleloader, shotgun, high power rifle, etc.). Most importantly, the program offers participants a safe, controlled environment for their day of fun.

Matt and Jessie Duff visit the National High School Finals Rodeo in Wyoming

Fairfax, Virginia - We're now more than half way through the third season of Friends of NRA's on the Outdoor Channel. Hard to believe, right? It seems like it was only a week ago when Matt and Jessie kicked off the new season.

But there's no time for lamenting ... let's look at this weekend's episode.

On Sunday's show, the Duffs head to the Cowboy State known as Wyoming. They are there to trade in their baseball caps for the more traditional cowboy variety. Once arriving in Rock Springs, Matt and Jessie mosey on over to the NRA and Weatherby-sponsored National High School Finals Rodeo (NHSFR) — an event that brings in kids from all over the world.

Get out and enjoy the shooting sports this fall with the NRA

Fairfax, Virginia - The holiday season is upon us and with it comes cooler weather. There may be more and more people sporting coats outside to keep warm but that doesn't stop Brownells/NRA Days from being held.

NRA Days are a great way to get outside and see how good your aim is (or isn't). They're held all over the country and give everyone in the community, from kids to adults, some outdoor fun with the shooting sports.

Pro Football Hall of Fame coach's annual charity event gets boost from NRA

Bristow, Virginia - Earlier this month NRA's Youth Programs Department traveled down the road from headquarters to Bristow, Virginia for the 27th Joe Gibbs Youth For Tomorrow Country Fair and Auctions. The event is a wonderful day of country fun for the entire family, featuring great music, food, and activities.

Hosted by Washington Redskins Hall of Fame coach Joe Gibbs, the fair benefits Youth For Tomorrow, a residential youth home and private school for at-risk teenage boys and girls.
