Brian Burrows from UCCS at the ACUI Clay Target Championships

San Antonio, Texas - Brian Burrows from the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs was perfect. Firing a flawless four rounds at the ACUI Clay Target Championships in San Antonio, the USA Shooting National Team member scored a stellar 100 points to take the top spot heading into the men's finals.

Nipping at his heels was Southeastern Illinois' Matt Perkins followed by four other shooters who managed to fire an impressive collection of 98s themselves. Though eager to claim the International Trap title, their only hope was for the Brian to slip up in the finals, lose his head and fall from his sudden state of grace.

There would be one last round. Twenty-five more shots for the top six shooters. They would have to be perfect and Brian would have to stumble. It was a lot to ask after already taking a 100 shots over the course of the day. But stumble he did.

San Antonio, Texas - Lindenwood University started what looks to be another dominating year at the ACUI Clay Target Championships, taking first place men's, women's and team categories.

As the sun set after a long, grueling day in the heat, the top six of both the men and women shooters gathered by the clubhouse for their respective finals.

A single round of skeet separated one shooter in each of the groups from a title.

Ladies American Trap winners at 2011 ACUI Clay Target Championships

San Antonio, Texas - After the American Trap finals at the ACUI Clay Target Championships this year, an awards ceremony was held for American events, overall awards and NRA Collegiate All American certificates were handed out.

In American Skeet, the day prior, Mack Davis from Southeastern Illinois College took top place in Men's with a perfect 100. On the Women's side, Lindenwood's Cassandra Douglas shot a 98 to earn the women's American Skeet title. Among teams in American Skeet, Lindenwood University-Gold, Fort Hays State University-Gold and University of Delaware-Gold took Divisions I, II and III respectively.
