First Club Champion Challenge for Tropical Sport Shooting Association takes place in Florida

"It's a fun and exciting way for shooters to find out who's the best shot in the club," said NRA Competitive Shooting's John Parker. "The Club Champion Challenge includes all ages, skill levels and best of all ... the awards are provided by the NRA."

Mammoth Park, Kentucky - The second annual Rockcastle/AR15.com 3-Gun Pro-Am competition in Mammoth Park ended in spectacular fashion as Greg Jordan snagged the top Pro spot with an overall score of 711.62 while Kevin Suffridge earned the high Amateur billing with a 609.86. The second annual Rockcastle AR15.com 3-gun competition is underway in Park Mammoth, Kentucky. Three days of running and gunning with their favorite rifle, pistol and shotguns. Three days to make your way through eight stages of clay targets, paper targets and the dreaded cave stage. Three days of fun.

Special 3-Gun shooting opportunity this weekend

This weekend the Rockcastle Shooting Center in Park City, Kentucky, is holding its second annual Rockcastle Pro Am 3 Gun Championships. The competition is a part of the NBC Sports 3-Gun Nation tour and is sure to draw a lot of competitors and spectators.

NRA 3-Gun Experience brought to AIM Championship

Sparta, Illinois - "Do you really think youth Trap shooters will be interested in a 3-Gun shooting experience?"

The NRA was asked this question and, after a huge turnout at the Academics Integrity Marksmanship (AIM) Championship, they can respond with a resounding "YES!"

3-Gun shooting competitions have gained a lot of popularity over the past few years and the NRA saw AIM as the perfect venue to introduce 3-Gun to young shooters. AIM is the youth program associated with the Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA) and has some 5,000 members nationwide.

In a 3-Gun challenge shooters, shooters compete in timed rifle, shotgun and pistol stages and are penalized for each missed target.

Multi-gun champ Horner featured by Army Marksmanship Unit

FORT BENNING, Ga. — In showcasing the U.S. Army and the very best of Army Soldier skills, Soldiers from the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit are expected to win regardless of the competition around them. Since joining the unit in 2006, Staff Sgt. Daniel Horner has embodied that notion and worn it on his sleeve.

Horner is a member of the unit’s Action Shooting team and in the sport of Multi-gun shooting there is Horner and then there is everybody else. Horner recently won his fourth consecutive United States Practical Shooting Association Multi-gun National Championship in Las Vegas and his fifth overall.

“A champion expects to win every match,” said Horner. “A winner goes to compete and see how it turns out. Sometimes he wins, sometimes he doesn’t. A champion goes to a match and tells everybody to start engraving the trophy, because it’s mine.”

Marie shoots a plate rack during the 3-gun competition at Rockcastle Shooting Center

Park City, Kentucky - As promised, we have more photos from yesterday's multi-gun competition at the NRA Women's Outdoor Adventure. Over the course of the morning, the ladies blasted their way through three different stages, utilizing the skills they learned earlier this week.

We also learned who led the pack during the competition. Angela grabbed first place in the competition, followed by fellow participants Heather and Marie. The trio will take home shirts from Rockcastle Shooting Center as a reward for topping the leaderboard.
