From the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission - John Corry is Youth Hunting Program’s Landowner of the Year

Tallahassee, Florida - At its meeting near Tallahassee, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) today presented John Allen Corry Jr. of Tallahassee with the 2013 Landowner of the Year award for its Youth Hunting Program of Florida (YHPF). This program strives to provide quality hunting experiences for 12- to 17-year-olds to increase the number of youths involved in the tradition of hunting.

Corry owns the 1,100-acre Corry Farms in Gadsden County. The property has gun ranges, a cleaning facility, comfortable deer stands and excellent bass fishing. The land also is known for holding large amounts of game and is intensely managed for game quality and herd health.

“Corry exemplifies what land stewardship is all about and more importantly shares that philosophy with others,” said FWC Commissioner Charles W. Roberts III. “He is passionate about Florida’s great hunting heritage and ensuring that it is passed on to the next generation.”
