Watch the NRA 500 at the Texas Motor Speedway on Fox Next weekend marks an impressive first for the staff and members of the National Rifle Association. On April 13, 2013, the first NRA sponsored NASCAR Sprint Cup race will wave the green flag at 7:45pm down in the great state of Texas.

What a great combination.

SAS Black Ops hosting first NRA Airsoft 3-Gun event in 13,000 square foot arena

Fairfax, Virginia – When we told you that NRA Sports was developing a 3-Gun event for Airsoft shooters, competitions weren't expected to kick off until the Fall. Leave it to Sam and Andy to shatter those expectations.

"Our first event is going to be next weekend at the SAS Black Ops Airsoft Arena in Marietta, Georgia," said NRA Recreational Shooting Specialist Andy Lander. "Two sessions, one day, a whole lot of 3-gun."

In thirty minutes, episode 4 of NBS Sports Networks' new tv show Hot Shots hits the airwaves. If it's anything like the first three shows then you better be watching.

For those of you unfamiliar with the show, Hot Shots follows four shooters as they compete in the respective sports (archery, pistol, revolver & shotgun) throughout the U.S. of A.

Johnny Morris of Bass Pro Shops has turned the #39 car into an NRA car for NASCAR's Daytona 500. Mr. Morris displayed the car at NRA's Annual Meeting in Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - Johnny Morris, owner of Bass Pro Shops as well as an avid NRA supporter, recently announced a heck of a contribution to the National Rifle Association. Especially for the Daytona 500, and maybe a number of other NASCAR races, he's turning the #39 car into an NRA car.

With the name and logo on the sides and back, NRA will be buzzing around the track as Ryan Newman tries to capture his second Daytona title. Luckily for the crowds here in Pittsburgh, Mr. Morris was nice enough to have to car delivered to the David L. Lawrence Convention Center for all to see.

NRA/NFL Sporting Clays Challenge Fans are filled with anticipation as NFL training camps are underway. Free agent signings, rookies filled with promise, new schemes to tackle, and coaches looking over their shoulders. Each section driving towards that ultimate prize -- Super Bowl XLIV in Miami, Florida.

As always, there are several events planned around the game. For the first time, the Pro Bowl takes place the week before Super Bowl. And Fan Plaza, located next to Dolphin Stadium, plays host to the NFL FLAG National Championship games. Also on the list is the 10th Annual NFL Alumni Sporting Clays Team Challenge.

The NFL Alumni Sporting Clays Team Challenge is an event open to all comers. Held this year at Markham Park on February 6, those signing up in teams of four will be paired with an NFL alumni like Eric Wright, Karl Mecklenburg, and Dave Butz.

Sporting Clays Showcase at the Country Music Awards

NRA Sports presented a Sporting Clays Showcase in conjunction with the Country Music Awards. On June 10, 2009, 53 shooters showed up bright and early at the Tennessee Clay Target Complex in Nashville, Tennessee. Dave Butz, NRA Board Member and three-time Super Bowl winner with the Washington Redskins was on-hand to shoot as well as provide coaching to the competitors. NRA/NFL Sporting Clays ChallengeOver Super Bowl weekend, NRA Sports hosted the 9th Annual NFL Alumni Sporting Clays Team Challenge in Land O' Lakes, Florida. Retired and current players alike came out to the Deer Creek Sporting Clays facility to captain 16 teams of four shooters.

The NFL Alumni Sporting Clays Team Challenge, held every year in conjunction with Super Bowl weekend, serves as a major funding vehicle for all the wonderful youth-oriented programs supported by the NFL Alumni, a non-profit charitable organization with a motto and mission of Caring for Kids.

The winning team, including top shooter James Harrod (48 out of 50), was captained by NFL Alums Larry Ball and Manny Fernandez. The second place team, captained by fellow NFL Alum Karl Mecklenburg, included NRA's own Chris Cox.

“Our thanks and gratitude is due to NRA Sports and Wayne LaPierre for supporting our efforts as the Presenting Sponsor of The NFL Alumni Sporting Clays Team Challenge,” said NFL Alumni Manager of Operations and Event Coordinator Patrick Gavin. “Their continued support of this event helps advance the NFL Alumni mission of Caring for Kids.”
