Fairfax, Virginia - In addition to sponsoring our exciting Women's Wilderness Escape, Smith & Wesson continues with its support of the NRA by joining our NRA 3 Gun Experience (3GE) program as the official sponsor. Managed by the NRA Sports Department, 3GE events are fun, introductory activities to the popular 3 Gun shooting sport that attract new shooters to a range and create thrilling experiences for club members.

NRA Sports' Samantha Olsen ready for a weekend full of 3-Gun fun

Fairfax, Virginia - You always know what you’re going to see when you run into NRA Sports’ Samantha Olsen — chipper smile, a quick laugh and an enthusiasm for the job that most envy. But what you don’t expect to see, at least on a Thursday, is Sam sporting a jeans and t-shirt combo. Ah, but that’s a good reason for that. She’s got a 3-gun match brewing.

“We’re loading up guns and ammo and heading to the Peacemaker National Training Center tomorrow,” said Olsen. “Tomorrow we set up and Saturday we shoot.”

Recreational Shooting Specialist Samantha Olsen wears many hats here around the NRA. In addition to heading up our latest 3-gun efforts, she also oversees the Brownells/NRA Days. Coincidentally enough, Samantha attended one of these camps back in her 4-H days.

NRA helps clubs around the United States host 3-Gun competitions, the world's fastest growing shooting sport

Fairfax, Virginia - In case you haven't noticed, 3-Gun competitions have experienced a meteoric rise in popularity over the past few years. In fact, it's the fastest-growing action shooting sports in the world. Watch the NRA 500 at the Texas Motor Speedway on Fox Next weekend marks an impressive first for the staff and members of the National Rifle Association. On April 13, 2013, the first NRA sponsored NASCAR Sprint Cup race will wave the green flag at 7:45pm down in the great state of Texas.

What a great combination.

SAS Black Ops hosting first NRA Airsoft 3-Gun event in 13,000 square foot arena

Fairfax, Virginia – When we told you that NRA Sports was developing a 3-Gun event for Airsoft shooters, competitions weren't expected to kick off until the Fall. Leave it to Sam and Andy to shatter those expectations.

"Our first event is going to be next weekend at the SAS Black Ops Airsoft Arena in Marietta, Georgia," said NRA Recreational Shooting Specialist Andy Lander. "Two sessions, one day, a whole lot of 3-gun."

In thirty minutes, episode 4 of NBS Sports Networks' new tv show Hot Shots hits the airwaves. If it's anything like the first three shows then you better be watching.

For those of you unfamiliar with the show, Hot Shots follows four shooters as they compete in the respective sports (archery, pistol, revolver & shotgun) throughout the U.S. of A.


New NBC Sports show highlights America's top shooters

Jerry Miculek, KC Eusebio, Patrick Flanigan and Randy Oitker — four of the top shooters in their respective fields.

Jerry is a fourteen-time International Revolver Champion, KC was the youngest USPSA Grandmaster at the age of 12, Patrick is an eight-time world record holder in Xtreme Sport Shooting and Randy has won over seventeen national Pro Archery titles.


Johnny Morris of Bass Pro Shops has turned the #39 car into an NRA car for NASCAR's Daytona 500. Mr. Morris displayed the car at NRA's Annual Meeting in Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - Johnny Morris, owner of Bass Pro Shops as well as an avid NRA supporter, recently announced a heck of a contribution to the National Rifle Association. Especially for the Daytona 500, and maybe a number of other NASCAR races, he's turning the #39 car into an NRA car.

With the name and logo on the sides and back, NRA will be buzzing around the track as Ryan Newman tries to capture his second Daytona title. Luckily for the crowds here in Pittsburgh, Mr. Morris was nice enough to have to car delivered to the David L. Lawrence Convention Center for all to see.
