Nashville, Tennessee - Allan D. Cors of Naples, Florida was elected by the National Rifle Association Board of Directors as President of the historic 144-year-old Association. The election took place in Nashville, Tennessee following the 144th Annual Meeting of the NRA where 78,865 members attended the 3-day celebration - the second highest number ever.

NRA signs on to sponsor NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race in April

The NRA 500 at the Texas Motor Speedway Fort Worth, Texas - Earlier this week, Texas Motor Speedway President Eddie Gossage announced that the National Rifle Association has agreed to serve as title sponsor for a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at the speedway later this year. Now known as the NRA 500, the race will take place on April 13.

"The NRA has been involved in the sport for several years and a partner of Speedway Motorsports, Inc., for many years in various aspects, and this race entitlement is just another extension of that business relationship," Gossage said in a news release. "I suspect we’ll sell a lot of tickets to their members and folks who support their position on America’s rights and freedoms and the Second Amendment."

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races at Dayton panel from Bass Pro Shops' NRA Museum stock car

Fairfax, Virginia - We've got a new NASCAR souvenir here at NRA Headquarters courtesy of Bass Pro Shops. How'd we do that? Here's how.

The Bass Pro Shops NASCAR Sprint Cup race team went with a special paint scheme during a few races this summer. A paint scheme that focused on the National Firearms Museum. Basically, it was an attempt to highlight the new NRA Sporting Arms Museum scheduled to launch this fall at the Bass Pro Shops flagship store in Springfield, Missouri.

Driven by Jamie McMurray in the in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races and by Austin Dillon in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, the paint schemes were on display this summer at races in Daytona and Atlanta.
