Statement By NRA Executive Vice President & CEO Wayne LaPierre on NRA's New Official Facebook Page

FAIRFAX, Va. -- The National Rifle Association is pleased to announce the launch of our new Facebook page.

As I’ve told our members many times, NRA doesn’t get its power from our headquarters building in Washington; our power comes from our members and their unflinching commitment to the Second Amendment.

Together we win elections, speak the truth to media lies, and stand and fight whenever our freedoms are challenged. We volunteer, mentor, donate and serve. We’re proud of our Second Amendment rights and our hunting and shooting traditions, and even more proud to say so. We’re patriots who believe with all our hearts that freedom’s best days are ahead.

In each and every NRA member action is a story of freedom’s future. It’s these stories that we’ll tell on NRA’s new Facebook page. And it is my sincere hope that by telling these stories, we’ll inspire millions more gun owners to follow in our footsteps and join our cause.

NRA’s new Facebook page can be found here.

I encourage all NRA members and gun owners to follow all members of the NRA Facebook family. Get legislative updates from NRA-ILA, the latest videos from NRATV, a look at new guns and gear from NRA’s magazine pages, and learn about all things right-to-carry from NRA Carry Guard.

Follow one or follow all, but be sure to share our pride and patriotism with friends across Facebook. Thanks for your ongoing support and friendship. By telling our stories, we’ll guarantee our firearm freedoms not only survive, but thrive in the years ahead.
