Are you seeking scholarship opportunities? Maybe you know someone deserving of recognition?

The National Rifle Association and its affiliated charities, The NRA Foundation and the NRA Civil Rights Defense Fund, proudly recognize and reward outstanding individuals each year for their dedication to the promotion of the Second Amendment, involvement in the shooting sports, and public service among other extraordinary qualities.

Check out some of the great options below! There’s still time to apply for some incredible opportunities this year but deadlines are quickly approaching – don’t miss out!



Youth Wildlife Art Contest
The annual Youth Wildlife Art Contest is open to students in grades 1 through 12 (including home-schooled children). Artwork must portray any North American game bird or animal that may be legally hunted or trapped. Complete list is available here. Contestants are limited to one entry each and may be in a medium of the artist’s choice (oil, water color, pastels, pencil, pen and ink, charcoal, etc.). First, second and third place winners will be selected for each category and will be awarded $750, $500, $250 respectively. One entry will be selected to receive the Best In Show award and a $1,000 prize. Entries must be postmarked by October 31, 2017 to be eligible and must be accompanied with an entry form. Wildlife Management/Conservation Scholarship
A renewable one-year $5,000 scholarship available to women who are full-time college juniors or seniors with a minimum grade point average of 3.0, majoring in wildlife management/conservation. Applications for consideration must be submitted no later than November 1, 2017. Click here for the details.



Jeanne E. Bray Scholarship 
College scholarships of up to $2,500 per semester (up to $5,000 per year for a maximum of four years) are awarded to dependent children of any public law enforcement officer killed in the line of duty who was an NRA member at the time of death, and to dependent children of any current or retired law enforcement officers who are living and have current NRA membership. Applications must be submitted by November 15, 2017. Click here for all the details.



Civil Rights Defense Fund Youth Essay Contests
The NRA Civil Rights Defense Fund (NRACRDF) sponsors an essay contest celebrating the Second Amendment as an integral part of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The theme for the essay is “What Does The Second Amendment Mean To You?” Open to all elementary, junior high, high school, and home schooled students in an equivalent grade. Entries must be submitted and postmarked by December 31, 2018 for consideration. Click here for the details.



Youth Education Summit 

An educational, all-expense-paid opportunity provides a select group of high school sophomores and juniors with a hands-on learning experience in the Washington, D.C. Students will gain an eye-opening perspective on American history and government while observing the political process at work. Beginning in 2018, the Summit will be adding a second session to its National program! To be considered, submit your application, high school transcript, three-page essay on the Second Amendment, one-page personal statements, and three letters of recommendation. Outstanding Achievement Youth Award Presented By Brownells
Recognition for NRA Junior Members who take an active part in the shooting sports through individual participation and educational pursuits. All NRA Junior Members (or NRA Regular or Life Members under age 18) are eligible to receive the award once they have completed six core requirements and five elective requirements. Being awarded creates eligibility for National prizes contributed by Brownells. First, second, and third place winners receive $5,000, $3,000, and $2,000 respectively. Submit your application by May 1 each year for consideration.



Collegiate Shooting Scholarship Program
These one-time scholarships are a unique way for high school students to receive support from the NRA to continue their education and continue their passion for the shooting sports and the Second Amendment. The program is currently open to high school students in Kentucky, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Applicants must possess a GPA of no less than 3.0, complete a 500-word essay, copy of college or university acceptance letter, and letter of recommendation.
