This week we recognize Chairman Mike Nuyt, volunteer of 10 years with the Perry County, Missouri Friends of NRA!
During his service, Mike has sold 150 banquet tickets that raised $4,500, sold 11 sponsorships totaling $5,000, raised $1,000 in pre and post-event raffles, arranged for underwriting of 19 items totaling $3,100, and acquired multiple donations to support the event.
NRA Field Representative Gregg Pearre shared, “Mike has been a dedicated volunteer for over ten years. He has never backed away from the challenges of raising money for the Missouri Friends of NRA program. Mike has been chairman of the committee since its inception 10 years ago which has remained a High Caliber event since. "Mike has been a dedicated volunteer for over ten years; he has never backed away from any challenge thrown at him.” He's been on the state fund committee for several years, and assisted with the local grant recipients when they have asked for help. The local 4-H has received multiple grants in the last several years and Mike has been the one to help them through the process.
Mike has also proven to be a leader in free press; Every year the local newspaper has done at least one article about the banquet. In addition to the Friends of NRA banquet, he volunteers at the Grand American Shoot in Sparta, IL were he helps at the NRA membership booth. He constantly recruits extra volunteers to assist at the booth and is always promoting the Friends of NRA Banquet at the local Elks Lodge, VFW Hall, local gun shows and outdoor shows.”
