Volunteer of the Week: Carol Brand

Volunteer of the Week: Carol Brand

Our Volunteer of the Week is Chairman Carol Brand, volunteer for 2 years of the Socorro County, New Mexico Friends of NRA

During her service, Carol has sold 179 banquet tickets bringing in $5,370, sold sponsorships totally $1,675, raised $9,000 in pre and post-event raffles, arranged for underwriting of 20 items equaling $3,00, and acquired 97 donations amounting to $13,468.

When asked about Carol, NRA Field Representative Kevin Post told us: “Carol and the committee have worked 6 gun shows, including 2 on the same weekend in opposite parts of the state. The committee meets weekly at MAGS Indoor Shooting Range where they are also starting a women’s shooting club. The committee’s goal was to be a High Caliber Club in their second year, which was achieved through Carol’s motivation of the rest of the committee. Carol is already looking for a bigger venue for next year’s event.

“Carol motivates the committee to reach and exceed their goals."
Carol has supported other committees by attending their banquets, buying raffle tickets and auction items, and offering assistance as needed. Carol is working with several new groups on the grants application process to ensure that the shooting sports get the help needed to leave a legacy.”
