Volunteers of the Week: Wanda & Kenny Matthews

 Our Volunteers of the Week are Wanda and Kenny Matthews, Chairman and Secretary of Central West Virginia Friends of NRA! They have volunteered 5 years of service!

During their service, Wanda and Kenny have sold 200 banquet tickets bringing in $8,000, raised $1,800 in pre-event raffles, acquired 25 donations amounting to $1,200, and brought in underwriting for 7 items amounting to $750.

When asked about Wanda and Kenny, NRA Field Representative Jim Kilgore told us, "When Wanda and Kenny first joined their committee, they came to help "a little." They stepped up and added their drive and talents, improving the venue, the food, and the atmosphere of the banquet. Kenny and Wanda also attend other Friends of NRA events in the state, encouraging others to become involved.

Kenny and Wanda Matthews are just good people. Kenny has an All-American outlook, and is an avid hunter and fisher. They attend the WV State Fund meeting, always bringing a level headed voice to discussions. They also attend and volunteer at the Great American Outdoors Show in Harrisburg. Most recently, they have even taken on leadership of a 2nd West Virginia banquet. I knew because of the Matthews' 'heart' they would be there for that committee as well as their own."
