Volunteers of the Week: Jim & Freda Yearwood

Volunteers of the Week: Jim & Freda Yearwood

Our Volunteers of the Week are Jim and Freda Yearwood, Chairman and Secretary of the East Tennessee Friends of NRA! Jim has volunteered for 10 years and Freda has volunteered for 2!

During their service, Jim and Freda have sold 188 banquet tickets, bringing in $8,460; sold 8 Corporate/ Business sponsorship tables totaling $12,800; raised $26,500 in pre and post-event raffles; and acquired 10 donations amounting to $1,365.

When asked about Jim and Freda, NRA Field Representative Mike Webb told us: "Jim and Freda are outstanding assets to the East Tennessee Friends of NRA committee. Their excellent attitudes and enthusiasm is an example visible to all committee members of Jim and Freda’s commitment to making a difference. Jim and Freda have volunteered over 476 hours to make their event fun and successful. This year their leadership, support, hard work, and dedication has helped the East Tennessee event break the $100,000 mark in net revenue for the 1st time ever. They also helped to organize and hold the 1st ever Friends of NRA Yard Sale.
“They are prepared to do whatever it takes to make their event award-winning."

Other ways that Jim and Freda support Friends of NRA is to attend the Tennessee Friends of NRA State Fund Conference where Jim is a delegate on the grant committee. They also attend other events throughout Tennessee to support other committees and will often volunteer at these events as well. Jim and Freda volunteered at the 2015 NRA Annual Meeting, by working the Foundation Banquet and the Wall of Guns. Jim and Freda’s devotion and dedication to making the Tennessee Friends of NRA program successful is why they are this year’s Volunteers of the Year!”
