NRA Foundation Awards Start-Up Grant to Lee County 4-H Rifle Club

AUBURN, Ala. – The NRA Foundation is proud to assist in establishing the Lee County 4-H Rifle Club in eastern Alabama by awarding a $16,500 grant to purchase all necessary safety and shooting equipment. Thanks to the organized preparation, the club has quickly acquired a full roster of both students and volunteers.

The Lee County 4-H Rifle Club seeks to educate youth in the safe and skilled discipline of rifle shooting. Club members are offered ten-week classes on firearm education and marksmanship with weekly activities and occasional matches to help measure progress.

Investing in community-based shooting programs across the country is a grassroots-level method of shaping the future values and beliefs of American society. The positive impact the Lee County 4-H Rifle Club has on its community is a testament to the importance of NRA Foundation grants in establishing meaningful beginnings and future successes.

“The partnership between [The NRA Foundation] and Lee County 4-H has been a very successful one,” 4-H Regional Extension Agent Kirsten Holt stated.
