From Taurus - Taurus' Jessie Duff wins World Speed Shooting Championships

Jessie Duff becomes Lady Steel Master in Florida

St. George, Utah - Taurus®, the global leader in revolver manufacturing, commends their team captain who has worked hard year round to earn titles like 1st Lady and Lady Steel Master. Jessie Duff placed first in three divisions while in St. George, Utah this past weekend.

The Southern Utah Shooting Sports Park hit 100-degree temperatures that felt like a hairdryer on the faces and necks of shooters. This type of a climate amplifies the mental challenges most competitors experience. The new range location also posed new challenges to veteran shooters, with light rock berms against the white targets. The World Speed Shooting Championships also applied a new rule to the qualifications for Steel Master.

The new rule now allowed shooters to compete with two center-fire guns, eliminating the mandatory use of one rimfire. Taurus Team Captain, Jessie Duff, competed full speed in the eight steel stages. Duff received a time of 116 seconds, which earned her 1st Lady in the Limited division. Without showing signs of slowing down, Jessie rated a time of 97 seconds, earning the spot in 10thoverall and also receiving the 1st Lady title in the open division.  These combined scores ranked her as the Lady Steel Masterat this year’s championship.

"Steel challenge is one of my favorite matches of the year that I always appreciate. It's a test of one’s speed and accuracy, and the one match where you can push the speed limit as fast as you can go! My Taurus 1911s performed great, just as I expected. They are a great platform and suited perfectly for the Steel Challenge." Jessie Duff also stated, "The Steel Master is my biggest accomplishment at this match, because of the dedication it takes to shoot and train multiple guns, and it's an honor to have won it again."

Jessie competed with her Taurus PT1911 in the single stack limited division and used her customized Taurus PT1911 single stack in the open division. Duff’s next match will be at the USPSA Area 4 on August 30, 2014 at Fort Smith, Arkansas.
