Limited edition Colt pistols are this year's top Friends of NRA merchandise

2014 Friends of NRA Gun of the Year

Fairfax, Virginia - Friends of NRA banquets are in for something else this year after the NRA's collaboration with legendary manufacturer Colt on the 2014 Gun of the Year - or should we say "guns" of the year.

An effort two years in the making, this featured pair of a XSE Government Model .45ACP and the new Colt .380 Mustang Pocketlite is perfect for shooting enthusiasts and personal defense users alike. You won't find anything else like this at a Friends of NRA banquet.

In the XSE you will find everything top shooters demand in a pistol with its reliable foundation of forged stainless steel receiver, slide, slide stop and 5” barrel. The Mustang boasts enhanced durability, reliability and accuracy, making it an ideal handgun for personal protection. Its durable CerakoteTM coated receiver and stainless steel slide and barrel are accompanied by rear slide serrations, commander-style hammer and lowered ejection port. Weighing in at less than one pound with a loaded magazine, this 5.5” handgun is truly an ease to carry. The minimal weight and length of the gun combines with the short single action trigger, high profile sights, firing pin safety block and 6-round capacity to enhance this firearm’s suitability for personal protection.

Want to see them in action? Watch Chris Chang, History Channel’s Top Shot Season 4 champion, use the pistols to slice some cards at the NRA Range.

Both the larger XSE Government Model .45ACP and the smaller .380 Mustang Pocketlite feature an NRA Matched Set logo laser engraved on the slide, a brushed stainless steel finish, matching NRA serial numbers and Blue & Black G10 Altamont grips bearing the NRA logo. An excellent his-and-her package, the pair includes a Colt Custom Shop blue box and a certificate of authenticity signed by both Kyle Weaver, Executive Director of NRA General Operations, and Dennis Veilleux, CEO and President of Colt's Manufacturing Company LLC.

Unfortunately the Mustang is not approved in all 50 states. California Friends of NRA banquets will instead feature an impressive Colt Defender.

Special thanks to Baron Technology Inc. for donating all engraving and embellishment services.

And remember, this Gun of the Year package is limited and available exclusively at Friends of NRA events. If you want it, make sure you get one this year, because it'll never be back.
