Harrisburg outdoor show is back and here to stay after nine incredible days

Attendees at the 2014 Great American Outdoor Show in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

Harrisburg, Pennsylvania - The doors have just closed on the inaugural Great American Outdoor Show and everyone is already talking about next year. The return of Harrisburg's annual outdoor show was an absolute success for everyone involved, from the exhibitors, to the local hotels and restaurants, and most importantly outdoor enthusiasts.

Each one of the show's nine days saw massive crowds browsing through the exhibit halls in what will surely be a record year for the largest consumer sports and outdoor show in the United States. Between the more than 1,000 exhibitors, hundreds of seminars and demonstrations, air rifle range, Family Fun Zone, celebrity appearances, NRA Foundation Banquet, Brantley Gilbert Concert, and so much else, Great American Outdoor Show attendees had more to do than ever before.

"My wife and I had such a great time this weekend," said Jason from Scranton, Pennsylvania. "This has got to be the best show we've ever attended, and we've been coming for years. We're so glad the NRA is in charge."

And things can only get better from here.

After the exhibitors have packed up and returned home and NRA's staff is back at headquarters in Fairfax, Virginia, we can start planning for next year and discuss improvements for future shows. We've been involved with Harrisburg's outdoors show for years through our Hunter Services, Membership, and NRAblog booths, but managing the entire show is something else. Now that we've experienced the show from A to Z, we can make the Great American Outdoor Show even bigger and better.

Thank you to everyone who came out this year. We hope you enjoyed yourselves, as many of you personally told us, and we can't wait to see you all next year. If you were unable to attend this year, don't make the same mistake twice.
