Vendors put final touches on exhibits as crowds await opening of 2014 Outdoor Show
Harrisburg, Pennsylvania - While the light outside the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center is growing ever dim, the lights inside are burning bright as exhibitors rush to put the final touches on their exhibits and displays for the 2014 Great American Outdoor Show.
The largest outdoor show in the United States, Great American brings more than 1,100 exhibitors to the 650,000 square foot facilities of the Farm Show Complex ... slightly less than the 2012 numbers.
"There are a few less exhibitors, but there are good reason for that," explained one of the show managers. "We've expanded the width of every aisle and we've increased the footprint of every exhibit. It eats into the number of booths we can offer, but it should also make it easier for people to navigate the show."
A gesture not lost on the vendors.
"It was tough when the show got cancelled last year," said Mike from Willow Oaks Plantation. "But having the NRA come in a run things this year, it's going to be something special."
So what is there to see? Plenty.
In addition to the countless rows of outfitters, boats, arrows, atvs, guns, optics and RVs, there are also a number of interactive activities to enjoy. Seminars like Decoy Placement, Filming your own Hunts, Trick Shooting, Elk Hunting 101 and Trapping Tactics are just a few of the sessions available on Saturday. Then there's the Family Fun Zone.
A way to get the little one's out for a little fun as they take part in camo face painting, wildlife identification, LaserShot, and so much more that they'll be begging to come back again.
Opening bright and early tomorrow morning at 9:00am, the Great American Outdoor Show brings you the latest in gadgets and gear for 2014. If you're headed out into the woods anytime soon, then make this your first stop.
