Harrisburg, Pennsylvania - Fighting against a chilling cold, the first round of vendors began early Wednesday morning as they descended upon the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center to unload their wares for the 2014 Great American Outdoor Show. Presented by Outdoor Channel, Great American is the largest sports and outdoor show in the country.

With more than 900,000 members within a 300 mile radius of the city, reviving the Harrisburg event was an easy decision for the NRA.

“Harrisburg is a great venue to showcase the NRA’s education, training and safety programs,” said Kyle Weaver, Executive Director of NRA General Operations. “It will also allow other conservation and outdoors organizations the ability to highlight activities through partnerships and alliances with NRA.”

First to arrive were vendors in Boats Hall. Robbins Marine, Ducky's Boats and other maritime specialist had their speed boats, john boats, Evinrudes and Yamahas all lined up neatly in a row in anticipation of the crowds to come.

At the other end of the building, in the Shooting Sports Hall, the National Rifle Association was working along with groups like Yamaha Outdoors and PARA USA as they did their best to make their Wednesday setup efforts count.

"Their doing just fine," said one show docent. "I've been part of the setup here for years and everything appears to be right on schedule."

The show officially opens at 9:00am on Saturday. That's less than two days from now. And if we can rely upon the docent's recollection, then that should be plenty of time to for everyone to put everything right where it should be.
