Las Vegas, Nevada - SHOT Show, the Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show for the firearms, ammunition, hunting and shooting accessories industry, wrapped up last week in Vegas. If you were there then you had the opportunity to walk through almost eleven football fields worth of guns, gear and accessories. If you weren't, then you've been relying on NRAblog and other websites to see what's hitting the market for 2014.

American Hunter, NRA's premier hunting magazine, sent down writers, photographers and videographers to capture as much of the experience as possible. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Meopta has introduced its latest generation of MeoStar riflescopes with the new R2 series, starting with the 30mm MeoStar 1-6x24 RD. The new model is not only the first of its line, but also Meopta's first riflescope with a 6x zoom ratio.
  • YAMAHA ANNOUNCES NEW TACTICAL BLACK VIKING EPS 4X4 Yamaha Motor Corp., U.S.A., has announced the introduction of the latest version of its new Viking EPE Side-by-Side (SxS) vehicle, the Special Edition (SE) Tactical Black Viking. Assembled in the U.S.A. and just announced, the new SE Viking combines an aggressive flat back painted appearance and popular accessories with classic Yamaha durability and off-road capabilities.

The new Tactical Black Viking EPS 4x4 boasts all of the category-leading features of Yamaha's standard Viking SxS, and also sports a molded sun top, overfenders, mud flaps, an under-seat storage box, bed-rail accessory mounts and exclusive black cast aluminum wheels.
  • Part of SHOT Show is getting a glimpse at some of the industry's up-and-comers, and the lighting experts at Olight were among those we found during our journeys on the show floor. After breaking out in the outdoor and flashlight enthusiast markets in Europe, Olight turned its focus on to the tactical market and began designing products tailored to meet the needs of law enforcement and government agencies.
  • Leupold has released a new version of its popular DeltaPoint sight, appropriately dubbed the DeltaPoint 2. The updated sight retains its predecessors motion sensor technology, lighting up when it detects motion but now offers a manual brightness control and features a button to completely power down to avoid battery waste.
  • THERMACELL HEATED INSOLES PROFLEXLast year, ThermaCELL Heated Insoles helped transform how time is spent outdoors by bringing heat to hunter's feet. Now ThermaCELL is introducing a one-of-a-kind heated insole with new features, including extendable use and increased flexibility. The ThermaCELL Heated Insoles ProFLEX has more features and functionality than any other foot warming option available on the market today.
Not a bad start, aye?
