Four donations go to NRA, Whittington Center and NRA's Law Enforcement Division
Houston, Texas - The NRA Annual Meeting officially opened for business at 9:00am local time inside the George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston. Officially being the operative word. For not everything that happened at the Annual Meeting happened after the opening. There was the Antique Guns and Gold Showcase, the opening of the NRA Store, and GLOCK's six figure donation to the National Rifle Association.
Divided up into four separate appropriations, the donation ceremony took place in the GLOCK booth about forty minutes before the official opening. Divisions of the NRA taking part in the ceremony include the National Rifle Association, the NRA Whittington Center, the NRA Whittington Center Adventure Camp and NRA's Law Enforcement Division.
Hosting the festivities was GLOCK Vice President Josh Dorsey.
“The NRA and its related organizations continue to uphold the values of firearm education and safety,” shared Josh Dorsey, GLOCK Vice President. “We at GLOCK, Inc. are delighted to contribute to the ongoing efforts of the NRA to defend our Second Amendment right and to support the firearm industry.”
- $50,000 to the National Rifle Association (GLOCK's fourth such contribution to the NRA.)
- $50,000 to the NRA Whittington Center (GLOCK's fifth such donation to NRA's premier hunting and shooting center in Raton, New Mexico.)
- $15,000 to the NRA Whittington Center Adventure Camp (GLOCK's eleventh such donation to Whittington's Adventure Camp, where young men and women learn the fundamentals of pistol, rifle and shotgun shooting.)
- 30 pistols to the NRA Law Enforcement Division (GLOCK's sixth such donation. The pistols will be handed out as prized during this year's National Police Shooting Championships in Albuquerque, New Mexico.)
"We greatly appreciate GLOCK's donation the National Police Shooting Championship," said Glen Hoyer, Director of NRA Law Enforcement. "There will be a lot of happy cops going home with GLOCKs come the Championships in September."
Based in Smyrna, Georgia, GLOCK pistols are carried by almost 70% of all law enforcement agencies throughout the United States.
