Become involved with your Association at this year's NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits

Charlton Heston at the 2000 NRA Annual Meeting in Charlotte, North Carolina

Fairfax, Virginia - The NRA's Annual Meeting of Members is what the yearly convention is all about. It's even in the name - NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits.

If you're an NRA member, we invite you to get involved in your Association and attend the meeting on Saturday May 4th in Houston, Texas at the George R. Brown Convention Center. Here anybody can help shape the direction of the Association and learn about the most important issues we face as gun owners. Wayne LaPierre, Chris Cox, and other NRA executives will address the meeting on the official business and state of the National Rifle Association.

Be a part of a historic event like when Charlton Heston raised a rifle over his head and said those five unforgettable words at the 2000 Annual Meeting in Charlotte, "From My Cold Dead Hands!"

We really encourage all members to attend the Annual Meeting for Members and share in the excitement as we look to forge a course for the next year. Vote for the 76th board member, bring resolutions up for a vote, have your opinions heard and help outline your Association's path.

In order to vote on our new Board Member, you must also be at least 18 years of age, and confirmed as a NRA member at least 50 days prior to the Annual Meeting. The Board has 75 members, each serving a three year term. These are staggered so that each year, 25 Board positions are up for a vote. The 76th board member serves a one year term, and is voted on every year at the Annual Meeting by eligible members attending the Meeting.

If you'd like to vote on other matters, including motions that come up during the meeting, you must have been a Life Member for at least 50 days, or have been an annual member for 5 continuous years without a lapse.

Verify yourself as a voting member before the Annual Meeting of Members in Voter Registration Room 310. Once we have determined you are eligible, you will be given the necessary materials to participate in these votes.

The NRA Annual Meeting of Members is an outstanding way to become more involved and have your voice heard! Your very presence is important. Your attendance will show our solidarity as the Association moves forward to defend our rights in this critical year.

Volunteers are the lifeblood of NRA events and Annual Meeting is no different. Our conventions would not be possible without generous supporters donating their time to assist with activities. We'd really appreciate it if you can spare a half-day or more to help make this year's Annual Meeting our best yet. View the Volunteer Registration Form to sign up, select availability and where you'd like to help.
