NRA Intercollegiate Pistol Championships' second, and deciding, women's title

Columbus, Georgia - The fourth of the NRA Intercollegiate Pistol Championship's five titles is Women's Sport Pistol.

Shot Wednesday, it was the second and final Women's championship. Here the United States Naval Academy clenched their Women's National Team title while West Point's Heather Deppe earned this year's individual crown.

Competitors were equipped with sport pistols (also known as standard pistols), a .22 LR handgun with open sights, a five round capacity minimum and grip restrictions.

The course of fire for the Women's Sport Pistol is similar to the Standard Pistol Championship's, shot earlier that day.

They still fired 60 shots, but in a slightly different way. Instead of three 20-shot rapid fire relays, the match features one 30-shot precision relay and one 30-shot rapid fire relay.

In the Precision Course, the 30 shots are broken down into six series of five shots. Here, competitors have a liberal five minutes per series to make carefully aimed shots.

The Rapid Fire Course also has six series of five shots, but shooting is a little more... rapid.

On each target are red and green lights, like traffic lights - red for stop and green for go. During each series the lights turn from red to green for exactly three seconds. In that timeframe competitors are allowed to shoot once, and only once, at the target.

Below are the top scorers from both the teams and individuals that participated.
