Matt and Jessie Duff get the full NRA Whittington Center experience
Fairfax, Virginia - This Sunday you can catch the second to last episode of Friends of NRA on Outdoor Channel. Although the dynamic third season is winding down (we don't want to think about it either), hosts Matt and Jessie Duff are enthusiastic as ever to bring you more great tales of NRA supporters from all over the planet.
Last weekend, while Jessie was off at a competition, Matt headed northeast to look for some New England patriots. Now that they're back together and ready for more action, where will they end up now?
Itching for a hunting adventure in the southwest, Friends of NRA has a lot of great options. In our opinion, none are as sweet as the NRA Whittington Center which is exactly where Matt and Jessie go. Founded in 1973 just outside Raton, New Mexico, the center is an outdoor enthusiast's heaven that spans 33,000 square acres. There you can find great training classes, shooting ranges for every discipline imaginable and an expansive wilderness ripe with wildlife.
It's been a while since Matt and Jessie have been able to get a hunt in on the show, so you can be sure they're ecstatic to gear up and get out there. But they won't be using any old rifle - oh no. For this trip, they're equipped with the 2013 Friends of NRA Gun of the Year: a Weatherby Vanguard Series 2 Eurosport.
This custom-built rifle is a thing of beauty and comes with a mounted Leupold VX-7 scope to help you get a guaranteed 3-shot group of .99" or less at 100-yards.
Watch Matt and Jessie track down some bull elk in the preview clip above. Think they'll be successful? You'll have to watch the episode this Sunday at 10:00 PM Eastern Time on Outdoor Channel to find out for sure.
We'll give you a hint though: the Duff household has a couple more trophies than it did before the episode was filmed.
