Matt and Jessie strapped into virtual cockpits during Friends of NRA's first season

Fairfax, Virginia - Friends of NRA's third season on Outdoor Channel is just 11 days away! If, like us, you can't wait for Matt and Jessie to jump back into the driver's seat of the Friends of NRA truck, join us in revisiting one of our favorite moments from the past two seasons.

Friends of NRA's hosts, Matt and Jessie, check out an A-10 Thunderbolt II at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri The Friends of NRA program is made up of thousands of volunteers from all across the country who work together to protect our shooting freedoms and traditions. A portion of the monies raised at Friends of NRA events goes toward supporting numerous military programs through grants. In episode nine of season one Matt and Jessie headed Whiteman Air Force Base, just southeast of Kansas City, Missouri, to visit another group of volunteers protecting our freedoms and learn about flight training with the A-10 tank destroyer.

Now Matt and Jessie weren't actually allowed to fly an A-10 themselves, but they got to sit in the cockpit of a training simulator that is an exact replica of what it's like when you're actually in the air.

Check out the clip to see for yourself as Matt and Jessie engage in some air-to-air combat. What were your favorite things from the first two seasons? Feel free to share them in the comments below.

Friends of NRA comes back to Outdoor Channel January 6, 2013.
