Fairfax, Virginia - Earlier this week, we told you about the return of NRA's Guns & Gold to the Sportsman Channel. And if memory serves, we also said something about a sizzle reel.

What's a sizzle reel?

An industry term in from the entertainment industry, a sizzle reel is a highlight reel of the action and thrills one can expect to see in an upcoming show. Death defying stunts, high velocity spills and a few hilarious moments to make you want even more. And that's just what this video brings.

See super slow-mo shots of watermelons going kablewie, closeups of rare and exotic firearms along with a couple of cutup segments from NRA Museum Director Jim Supica and Senior Curator Phil Schreier.

Why the sizzle reel?

Because NRA's Guns & Gold is returning to the Sportsman Channel on New Year's Eve. Ready to reclaim their spot as one of the top shows on the hunting, shooting and fishing airwaves. After all, what better way to have you leave behind the big ball dropping in Time Square then to offer up some of the most astounding firearms this nation has to offer.

How good could it be? If the sizzle reel is any indication, pretty darn good.
