Happy Thanksgiving from the NRA
An opportunity to gather with family and friends. To reconnect. With some you see almost every day, others you see once a year. But as you come together, basked in an aroma of turkey, sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie, the days and miles that severed your connections suddenly disappear. It's magic.
Memories of foolish escapades, lost loves and past glories are passed around the table along with the stuffing and beans. Offering praise, condolences and support. You're a family again.
Most of you have already reached your holiday destination. Maybe you've been there all week. Julie Golob, a professional shooter for Smith & Wesson who graciously sent us the Thanksgiving inspired pic to the right, left yesterday. I'll be leaving for Mom's in a couple of hours. Either way, each of us will be back in a family setting soon.
So share your stories, devour the eats, watch the parades, the football and the kids at play. If you can't be there in person, then find the time to call or skype home. No matter where home is. For home is where we all long to be. And on days like these, the days of Thanksgiving, the longing grows every more.
From all of us here at the National Rifle Association, have a happy, hearty Thanksgiving.
