San Antonio, Texas - It's morning here in Texas. The lazy rays of sunshine peer through the covering clouds as gunfire echoes off the berms. Not to worry — that's a good sign. That means that the 2012 San Antonio Tactical Police Competition is under way.

The final NRA Tactical Police Competition of the year, the San Antonio match is shot out at the Blackhawk Shooting Range. Here for three years now, it's become a favorite of competitors and staff alike.

"We have a good collection of shooters out here," said NRA Law Enforcement Competitions Manager Marc Lipp. "Local law enforcement, state police, federal agents … it's going to be a good day."

NRA Range Safety Officers just wrapped up their briefings and the walked the competitors through the course — except for the blind stage. What would be the fun in that?

We'll be here all day talking to the competitors, taking pictures, shooting video and keeping you up to date on the scores.

Now out into the action
