Friends of NRA raffle at headquarters takes after a popular NRA convention event
Fairfax, Virginia - Have you heard about the Wall of Guns at NRA Annual Meetings? Introduced in 2011, the Wall of Guns is exactly what it sounds like: a wide array of guns ripe for picking... but only if you win the raffle first.
Raffles are held for every 100 tickets sold, keeping the group small and giving everyone a decent chance of winning. And there's no limit to the number of tickets you can buy to increase your odds. Raffles are held in rapid succession, so there's a lot of happy people by the end of the day.
Once the winner is chosen, they may pick from any of the quality firearms on the wall's display. Some sections of the wall even let you pick two guns.
The Fairfax Friends of NRA, whose banquet is this evening, put on a Wall of Guns of their own the past two days right here at NRA headquarters to raise money for the committee. Not having as large a selection of firearms as you can find at the NRA Annual Meetings, the committee only held two rounds and quickly ran out of the 150 tickets it was trying to sell.
Being held at NRA headquarters, it was no surprise that a NRA employees would end up winning. Tim Fisher from the Office of Advancement quickly snatched the Kimber Ultra Carry II .45 ACP after winning the first round and Suzanne Anglewicz from the Institute for Legislative Action was the lucky winner of round two - congratulations guys!
You can expect more Wall of Guns action this year at the Annual Meetings in Houston, Texas, so start day dreaming about what you'd like to see on the wall.
The Fairfax Friends of NRA banquet starts just down the street from the NRA at 6:30 tonight and there's still time for you to get in on the action. Go to http://www.friendsofnra.org/va to find out more.
