Fairfax, Virginia - We've got a new NASCAR souvenir here at NRA Headquarters courtesy of Bass Pro Shops. How'd we do that? Here's how.

The Bass Pro Shops NASCAR Sprint Cup race team went with a special paint scheme during a few races this summer. A paint scheme that focused on the National Firearms Museum. Basically, it was an attempt to highlight the new NRA Sporting Arms Museum scheduled to launch this fall at the Bass Pro Shops flagship store in Springfield, Missouri.

Driven by Jamie McMurray in the in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races and by Austin Dillon in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, the paint schemes were on display this summer at races in Daytona and Atlanta.

After the races, Bass Pro Shops returned to their normal look. Now that doesn't mean they painted over the NRA Museum. No, instead, they decided to perform one more special act for the NRA. The outdoors retailer tore the side panel off of Jamie McMurray's No. 1 car and gave it to the NRA. We now have it proudly displayed here at headquarters down at the NRA Range.

Even better ... the entire Bass Pro Shops NASCAR crew signed the panel.

The new NRA Museum at Bass Pro Shops headquarters will feature more than 10,000 square feet of America's most significant sporting arms treasures amid the over 400,000 square foot store - Missouri's #1 tourist attraction.

You'll have a chance to feast your eyes on the museum soon enough as it's opening in only a couple months. And for those of you who can't make it, NRAblog will have plenty of photos right here once it opens.
