Border Patrol Agent Robert Vadasz has early win at the NRA National Police Shooting Championships in Albuquerque

Albuquerque, New Mexico - The first scores for NRA's National Police Shooting Championships (NPSC) finds defending champ Robert Vadasz leading fellow U.S. Border Partol Agents Smith and Worrell with a score of 1497-112x. A three time Grand Aggregate Champion, today's scores are five points better then Vadasz's totals from last year.

The Open Class Semi-Automatic 1500 is an aggregate championship. Results from five separate matches are combined to reach the grand total. In those matches, competitors shoot from a variety of distances (7, 15, 25 and 50 yards) from a variety of position (standing, sitting, kneeling, prone, off-hand and supported). Scores from this particular championship accounts for about a quarter of the Grand Champion's overall score.

"That's a good start for Robert," said one competitor from California. "It's still early, anything can happen, but that's a very good start."

But before anyone throws up their hands upon hearing the news, please remember that these scores are preliminary. On top of that, we're still waiting for numbers from today's Distinguished and Stock Semi-Auto matches to post.
