Hollywood star and NRA Board Member R. Lee Ermey arrives at Police Championships

NRA Range Officer Mike Lane explains course #1 to Gunny R. Lee Ermey during the New Mexico Tactical Police Competition

Albuquerque, New Mexico - Fresh of the plane, Gunny R. Lee Ermey made his way out to Albuquerque's Shooting Range Park to catch the last stage of NRA's Tactical Police Competition. Prior to the final shooter running the course, NRA Range Officer (RO) Mike Lane walked the Gunny through the stage.

"It's one of our more difficult courses in this match," said Lane. "Competitors have to be proficient with their handgun, shotgun and rifle. There's no hiding on stage one."

After watching the final run, Gunny met with the competitors and the ROs for pictures, autographs and more.

"That was awesome," said Chris from El Paso. "Never thought I'd be seeing the Gunny out here."

Though most of the crowd left in good spirits, there was one RO who took things to another left. Always happy to oblige, Gunny offered the famous pose that so many have requested.

"You have to send me a copy," said RO Buddy Brown. "My marine buddies are going to freak."
